Greenvoice.com launches anti-packaging viral

Greenvoice.com, a website which focuses on green issues, has launched a campaign against excess packaging across several social networking websites.
The campaign has been designed to target a younger audience, who Greenvoice believe are more active with environmental issues.

Greenvoice wants people to sign its petition and plans to lobby the government.

It wants the government to introduce absolute restrictions on packaging, setting optimal weight regulations on packaging and introducing targets for biodegradable packaging.

Greenvoice was unavailable to talk to Packaging News.

Dick Searle, chief executive of the Packaging Federation, said: "The campaign is laughable. It shows just how little these people understand about packaging.

"If these people want to cut down on packaging then they will have to stop buying goods because packaging is just a delivery system for goods."

The campaign viral features a humorous play in which a young woman gets wrapped in plastic and cardboard on her way to meet her boyfriend.

Medicinal Purposes

Chinese designer Daizi Zheng created a range of healthy snacks packaged to look like drugs and junk food, including these blueberries in a blister pack. Called Stereotype, the project includes carrot sticks packaged like cigarettes and celery sticks in a french fry carton.

Stereotype is about helping people eat more healthier through their everyday habits. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), unhealthy diet is amongst one of the leading causes of the major non-communicable diseases. Can design encourage people to rethink their relationship with healthy food to gain a balanced diet?

Life in the fast lane

For those looking to move a little quicker, auto giant Volkswagen has created a “Fast Lane” slide at the Alexanderplatz subway station in Berlin. So the commuters have the choice to either take the staircase or have fun and save time by sliding down the Fast Lane. View it here

Honda: Do, keep doing and do some more on the Behance Network

A little bit of insight goes a long way, their insight was doing, as in, actively participating in doing stuff. And they got a wee story out of it. I find this theme a little child like though, especially for my particular target audience, but none the less, it may have worked for theirs.

Liquid Slab

The Tangga House by Guz Architects

I find this pretty fascinating, plus at first glance it looks amazing, and then once you start exploring, you can see the eco-friendly elements. Id hope the building work is perfect, and there's someone who is very dedicated to keeping the pool clean! Read and see more here

The store that fits

A new wave is coming in totally reflecting what your brand and company stands for. How better to do this than embody every part of it. Take a look at these store fit outs, eco-forward, full of fun, and the benefits are obvious. You could say rightin front of your eyes!

eBarrito

Makes me think of the Aesop concept store I visited in Melbourne. The site is here. Id say they win.

Cover Me Beautiful Sort Of

Im not a hundred percent on where I stand with this. Its an awesome, real time and real life ad campaign, but it has no greater respect in mind, other than covering what you have with what we got. I don't have a problem with the majority of it, but there are some surfaces that I think are beautiful and probably significant to the culture in particlular there are a few moments of beautiful architecture, and also I think brick need not to be covered. It would have been different is the colour palette was more mature and understanding, rather than reintroducing kindergarten. Anyway, take a look, and be sure to read the comments.

'Designed' work..

Im not too sure about the thinking behind this campaign. It does have an interesting message, well, sort of, but its prpbably much more of a design solution that a thought about and executed strategy. See more here and make your own opinion.

Dent

Coke with no colour? Just like black and white television, we would still think it in colour. This is intended to be an eco friendly package, as they minimise their waste by not using colour processing, and instead use indentations. See more here on the Behance Network.

Delicate

Liyen Chong is a graduate from Canterbury Fine Arts School in Christchurch. She works meth methods of embroidery, using her own hair! The pieces are so fine and carefully put together. Sustainable? I think so. More here

A picture can tell a thousand words, and sometimes it's not good. The American flag makes it all the much better, I wonder what state this is!

Lula Trala

Pretty much inLOVE with Lula magazine, if only I could find it on the NZ shelves

Cut and Paste

I've had far too much spare time (slash time wasting), so I've been scrap booking. The only reason the images are together is because I chose them. Nice to think of.
